| Excluded some gaps, each IBACH-instrument is registered in our records since 1820. Attention: there is a great gap between the years 1889 and 1901 for nearly all instruments exported to the British Empire and British colonies via Rud. Ibach Sohn in London, a company by its own, managed by "Willeringhaus, Klinker & Cie", later by "Hermann Klinker & Co". At this time, they have had special records for this purpose which are lost today. Another gap: some years in the 1970th, when the office of Rud. Ibach Sohn started to manage the factory with computers ;-). Customers of Ibach pianos (only finished between 1840 and 1970) we do offer a research in our records for your piano; however we must calculate a charge for this time-consuming service. Please notice: Our certificates are only destined for old pianos, made until the year 1970. These records we keep in our archiv. Records of younger times are stored out of our factory and are not getable. Usually our certificate contains the exact day of completion the instrument, wood, colour etc. and the first customer, who bought the piano. The first customer may be a privat person as well as an IBACH-dealer or a musicstore. Sometimes, we can give some more informations, for example the former price of an instrument. Sometimes we are unsuccessfully and there is nothing to discover in our old records. Especially in the years 1890 - 1906 mentioned above, when exports in the UK were usually not registered in the regular records because they have had extra-records for the UK-export-business to our general-representative Mr. Hermann Klinker in London (the UK-business was very big). Klinkerts firm was a company by its own, called "Rud. Ibach Sohn London". These special records are lost nowadays. Before and after this time, the regular records are containing also the piano trade to UK and the British colonies. | ![]() |
Informations are getable about following brandmarks:
|
| Informations about the brandmark of Gustav Adolf Ibach or G.A. Ibach are not getable by the Ibach-archive! |
By the way: For your interest we have some old piano-catalogues on the web. |
| Never we do mention something about the value of a used instrument without any previous investigation, otherwise any hint would be most dubious! Used instruments can have both: a very high as well as a small ("trash-") value. The correct decision is to ask your piano technician nearby for an exact inspection/investigation. Parts for self-restoring your old piano are mostly not getable. They are made by hand either by piano factories or by special manufacturers (i.e. keys or action). In these cases we are unable to help. |
